Fourth Bishop of Clermont (formerly Averna), Auvergne, France. He worked
to establish Clermont as a center of religious teaching and devotion in
the region. Cured the daughter of the Emperor Maximus at Trier. Highly
venerated by Saint Gregory of Tours. The petrified mineral springs and
Benedictine abbey in Clermont are named for him.
