Shipments of Clothing and Supplies to Peru

Items Needed                Inventory List

Containers are shipped to Piura four times a year. These containers are 40 feet long, 7 1/2 feet wide and 9 1/2 feet high and can contain 20,000 to 25,000 pounds of goods of all types. To date, we have shipped pick-up trucks, a van, an ultrasound machine, wheelchairs, musical instruments, motorcycles, furniture, tools, bicycles, dishes, religious articles, many clothes and shoes, toiletries, school supplies and toys.

The next shipment to Peru is scheduled for late summer, August or September, 2008. F2F boxes may be left in the Commons at any time.  Please include an inventory sheet on top with "SJ" and your F2F number (xxxx/xxx) written on all sides of the box. Use the standard size boxes (12x12x18) whenever possible.

Please note! Boxes may be available for $1.00 each and are located in the small closet in the Commons. Payment envelopes are located there for your convenience. Envelopes may be put in the collection basket during Mass or may be left in the church office. Boxes may also be purchased at Love Box Company on S. Broadway for $1.00 each.

Poor Peruvian natives are always in need of used clothing, shoes, school supplies and house ware items in good condition. Donations may be left in bags in the Commons.

Identifying Cartons to Peru

  • No name may appear outside or inside of a carton.

  • Do not insert cards or letters in your boxes. Please drop them off in the Commons' closet. The box is on top of the file cabinet. Cards and letters will be sent separately.

  • Contact Becky Coyle for your unique F2F identification number (340-0691)

    • Family Code = your code + Peru family code (ie. 476/110)

    • Parish ID = SJ

    • Mission in General Code = SJ - 0/0

  • Write your F2F ID and Parish ID on the outside and inside of each carton

    • Black marking pen

    • Mark top and multiple sides of carton

  • Place inventory list securely to outside of carton with clear tape

  • Peru Shipment Cartons may be purchased for $1.00 each at the Parish Office.

  • Pack the box tightly! ( Do the TEST: Can you sit on it without crushing it?) Add additional clothing or linens so that the boxes won't be broken open during shipment.

All items should be in good condition and working order.  A date will be announced in the near future as to when these items will be accepted at the warehouse.

Needed

  • Clothing and shoes for the August shipment. New or used (clean & in good condition) to be distributed to those in need.

  • Twin size sheets are needed for the missionary trips now. These can also be used and in good condition.
