Every neighborhood is different. Be aware of the needs of your Neighborhood Parish and plan activities that fit.

Use common sense. Place yourself in the shoes of the family to be helped and ask yourself  “How would I like to be treated if I found myself in the same circumstances?”

Get well cards and notes
Notify other families in the neighborhood

Elderly

Arrange for regular visits or phone calls to keep aware of conditions.

Newcomer welcome party
This would be to help new families moving into the neighborhood feel welcome and

Make it relaxed and informal.

Home Blessing
Contact a priest or deacon for possible dates.
Allow 5-6 weeks lead time.
Contact the families.
The priest or deacon will often begin with a prayer gathering.
Arrange for someone to the drive the priest or deacon from home to home.
Allow~15 minutes for each home and drive them.
