In the planning of your marriage, you are aware that there are costs involved even for the simplest wedding. We want to assure you that we will negotiate with any couple who, because of financial difficulties, find our church fees a burden. Discuss this frankly with the celebrant of your marriage and come to an understanding with him. The fees are to cover our special and extraordinary costs and to pay the staff who will be giving time outside their regular work hours for your wedding.

Music Director ------------- $75.00
An additional fee for extraordinary services.
Additional Musicians - cost to be prearranged through the music director.

Servers or Acolytes
A gift to each of $5.00 to $10.00 is an appropriate and
common gift.

Celebrant
There is no charge by the clergy to celebrate your wedding, but it is customary that you give a stipend to the celebrant. The stipend should reflect both your means and the style of your wedding. If someone comes from out-of- town to celebrate your marriage, you should offer to cover traveling expenses and lodging while in town. We are always willing to invite visiting clergy to stay in the rectory if there is a room available. Should your means make a stipend a great burden, be sure to discuss this with the celebrant and express your gratitude in other ways.
Ecumenical participants, ministers of other Christian communions or even non-Christian clergy are welcome to assist at weddings. Discuss this with your celebrant.

Use of the Church
There is no charge for active members of St. John the Baptist Parish. Should you be a non-contributing member or a visitor to our parish, we ask that you make an offering of $150.00 for the use of the church and the added costs to the parish. This too is negotiable according to your means.
IF OUR FACILITY IS NEEDED FOR A FUNERAL DINNER, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO USE THE ROOM FOR THAT PURPOSE. WE WILL WORK WITH YOU TO ALLOW YOU SUFFICIENT TIME TO SET UP YOUR RECEPTION.

Parish Rooms for the Reception:

Seton Hall -- $100.00 for parishioners

Pavilion ----- $ 75.00 for parishioners

Commons -- $150.00 for parishioners

Great Hall -- $300.00 for parishioners
These fees cover the costs to clean, heat, and cool the facilities. We ask that your caterer leave the facility "broom-clean" with all the trash bagged and put in outside dumpster. A deposit is required over and above rental and will be returned to you after the celebration. Any additional costs to the parish will be taken from deposit or even billed in addition. Check your contract. Often, there is another parish activity early the next morning or even the same day, and we will need to prepare the facilities for the next event.

There is a additional $25.00 security fee
which covers the expense of having a security staff member open the facility, turn off the security system, take care of the lights and heat/air conditioning. After the event, the security staff will secure the facility for you.

Also a $75.00 cleaning deposit
is required for all who use the facilities. This deposit will be refunded after the event if the facility is left clean.

Kitchen
When the kitchen is used to serve food prepared elsewhere, there is no charge. There is a $50.00 fee charged when the caterer or food preparer use our facility to prepare food. This fee does not include clean-up.

The above fees are for active members of the Parish. Should the person using Parish Facilities be a non-active (non-contributing) member or a non-member of the Parish, there will be need to negotiate the fee for facility use that reflect the real cost.
