Giving

Payment Method Options:

  • How do I give online?

We're happy to provide "Enhanced Stewardship through Electronic Funds Transfer". We have partnered with REALM to offer this program to all our parishioners.

It's Simple. By logging into REALM first, this will ensure your online donation is included in your year-end giving statement. You may, however, also give without logging in by clicking the Give Online button to the right.

It's Secure. REALM is payment-card industry compliant and uses the strongest encryption technology currently available.

It's Convenient. No more searching for the checkbook or weekend stops at the ATM machine.

REALM allows you to choose to make your donation by either credit/debit card or bank transfer, to choose the date and frequency of contribution, to choose the fund to donate to, and to make one-time or recurring donations.

    Give Online

  • I keep hearing about REALM - what is it?

  • How do I give by text?

To give via text, send SJBCatholic to the phone number 73256. You’ll receive a text message in response with your next steps. After you give one time, your payment method is saved, so you can quickly give again from your phone.

While online giving through REALM is available, there are certainly other ways to give and we appreciate them all!

  • Can I still give using envelopes?

Parishioners have been using the envelope system for decades and it still works just fine! When you register with St. John's and you indicate that you'd like to receive envelopes, you'll first be given temporary envelopes, and shortly thereafter assigned an envelope number.

You will then receive packets of envelopes in the mail. Return the envelope with either cash or your check for the assigned week, feast day or special collection in the collection basket at Mass or mail them to the Parish Office.

Please Note:  Cash given in the collection basket is as gratefully received as any other donation. It does have a downside though, insofar as it provides no way for us to keep track of your yearly contributions for tax purposes.

  • How do I give by mail via online banking?

Add St. John the Baptist Catholic Church as a payee through your online banking website.

Our mailing address is 900 South Littler Avenue Edmond, OK 73034. If you are a parishioner, please try include your envelope/giving number as your account number.

Different Ways to Give:

  • Wills & Bequests

Having a will is very important for a number of reasons, and we encourage you to make one or revise an existing will if you haven't done so in the last five years.

When you do update your will and estate plans, please consider continuing your lifelong commitment to Catholic Stewardship by leaving a bequest to St. John's.

If you wish to consider leaving a gift in your will or estate plan, please contact Owen Canfield at the Pastoral Center at 405-709-2897 or cfo@cfook.org.

  • Charitable IRA Gifts

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is an opportunity to satisfy all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution.

Make an impact in a ministry you love and at the same time reap significant tax benefits, especially with the new tax laws.

If you are 70 1/2 years or older, you may make a QCD from your IRA to St. John's or St. Elizabeth's without paying federal income tax.

The funds transferred will count toward your required minimum distribution. Transferred funds do not qualify for a charitable deduction, but are not counted as taxable income.

Your disbursement must come directly from the Administrator of your IRA to St. John's or the Archdiocese. You cannot receive the funds first or you will be taxed on it like any other distribution.

To illustrate: Assume your required minimum distribution for the year, which you are required to take by December 31, is $25,000. In November, you make a $25,000 QCD to the Archdiocese designating your gift to be split with $15,000 going to support the parish, $5,000 to the Archdiocese and $5,000 to Catholic Charities.

The QCD satisfies your $25,000 Required Minimum Distribution for the year. While the $25,000 distribution is generally not tax deductible, your tax benefit comes from excluding the $25,000 from your annual gross income.
